I work collaboratively with my clients to help them construct a meaningful life. This means supporting clients to make meaning of even the more painful aspects of their experience. Perhaps you are dealing with a difficult life transition, struggling with memories from a painful childhood, grieving the death of a loved one, engaging in self-destructive behaviors, or are attempting to navigate the complex world of relationships. I will work with you to address issues from the perspective that although life is often painful, people have the ability to make healthy choices and to live lives of integrity, depth, and beauty.
As a therapist, I take an eclectic approach, often utilizing EMDR to support clients who are dealing with painful memories and the impact that these memories have on mood, behavior, physiology, and self-concept. I have extensive experience working with issues related to trauma, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness.
